ES Tracking Platform
Real-time GPS tracking, telematics, and IoT sensor monitoring for vehicles, assets, and fleet operations across Australia.
Overview
ES Tracking is a comprehensive GPS and IoT tracking platform designed for Australian businesses. It provides real-time vehicle location monitoring, telematics data, beacon sensor integration, and detailed trip reporting — all accessible from a modern web interface and native mobile apps.
The platform supports a wide range of device protocols and models, operates on Australia's LTE and NB-IoT networks with extensive Telstra coverage, and integrates directly with the ES ERP Fleet Management Module for unified fleet operations.
📡 Device Coverage – LTE | NB-IoT
ES Tracking devices operate on Australia's leading IoT networks. The platform supports both LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT connectivity, providing reliable coverage across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas via the Telstra network.

🔵 Beacon Technology
ES Tracking integrates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon technology for asset monitoring, environmental sensing, and proximity-based applications. Understanding how beacons work is crucial to making well-informed decisions about your tracking and sensor requirements.
How Beacon Technology Works
What is a Beacon?
A beacon (or tag) is a small wireless device that works on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). It functions like a lighthouse — repeatedly transmitting a constant radio signal that nearby devices can detect. A Bluetooth-equipped device such as a smartphone, gateway, or access point can "see" a beacon once it is in range.
Advertising Packets
Beacons broadcast an advertising packet containing the device ID, firmware version, battery level, and transmission power. Depending on the vendor and device model, the packet may also include sensor readings such as temperature, humidity, and motion data.
Location Calculation
Beacon location is determined by combining three factors: the transmission power (broadcast signal strength), the reference RSSI (signal strength at one metre), and the actual RSSI (signal strength at the receiver's location).

🧩 Beacon System Components
A beacon-based solution requires three key components working together. The beacon broadcasts its signal, the receiver captures the data, and the application interprets it into meaningful information.
1. Beacon / Tag
A small BLE device that repeatedly broadcasts its advertising packet — including ID, battery level, sensor data, and signal strength.
2. Receiver / Gateway
A Bluetooth-enabled device that "listens" for beacon signals within range and forwards the captured data to the application layer.
3. Application
Software that processes the received beacon data, computes location and sensor readings, and presents the information to the user.

💡 Beacon Use Cases
Cold Chain Monitoring
Track temperature and humidity in real-time for perishable goods, pharmaceuticals, and food logistics compliance.
Asset Tracking
Monitor high-value equipment, tools, and cargo with proximity-based detection and movement alerts.
Trailer & Container Tracking
Attach beacons to trailers and shipping containers for automated identification and location awareness.
Battery Monitoring
Track beacon battery levels and receive alerts before replacements are needed to maintain continuous coverage.
